For auto-created destinations, you set default property values in the broker’s instance configuration file.
then go into the device web page using the IP address ie: 192.168xxx.
go to configuration and smb create a user name ie: bill then point the device to the computer you created the folder on, ie: bill's pc/c:scans save the configuration log out of the web utility reboot the device and you should have succesfully created an smb folder share.
i added a user in the address book, put a user code & gave permissions but it doesn't show up on the scanner destination list.
I also tried doing it with the browser with the same results.
Also tried updating manually but the screen just says please wait.
This is the first time i've seen this set up (Network Delivery Server) as i'm only familiar with scan to folder on the newer ricoh equipment. So the scan is working ok i just can't add any or delete any users in the address book.
your best bet would be to set up using SMB scan to folder.
set up is pretty straight forward create a folder on the root of C: ie C:scans share the folder with full permissions, simple file sharing has to be turned off!!
on a DSM645 they scan using the network delivery scanner which has 15 users who can scan with no problems.
The customer wanted some users adding & some taken off but when i tried it doesnt update so i'm unable to do this.
Thanks Thxs for the reply nmfaxman, I went there this morning and mentioned scanrouter and was told yes its on the server but they didn't know what it was for.
In their defence it wasn't the IT guy who set it up from new the other IT guy has left the company.
